Langston Hughes

James Mercer Langston Hughes remains a legend of African American literature. As a writer and pioneer of the Harlem renaissance, he produced columns, plays, novels, short stories and poetry. He was influential as a social and political activist and was among the pioneers of jazz poetry and a key figure in the Harlem Renaissance.
